Congratulations on tackling the M-Step! You all worked very hard on this important test. What are some of the things we have done in the classroom this year that helped you prepare for the M-Step? Give specific examples and tell how they helped you.
You just finished participating in a book club where you read an adventure book. In your blog entry, convince others in the class to read the book you just finished. Be sure to include the title and a short summary of what it is about. Don't forget to tell them WHY it was so good! Be convincing.
Congratulations! You are a published author! A lot of hard work and time went into writing your book. How do you feel about your final product? What did you learn about writing an entire book? What advice would you give to someone who wants to write their own book?
Think of the many books you have read so far this school year. Name a book you would recommend to a classmate. Tell what genre it is, and why you think someone else would like to read it. (Don't give away the ending!)
You have now completed your research about the threats to a particular biome. Share what you learned with others. What does this make you think? Can we do anything to prevent these problems from getting worse?
You recently completed the Magnets & Electricity Unit. Think of all you learned through the investigations, readings, and class discussions. Often times when we learn something new, it raises even more questions. What do you now wonder about magnets and electricity? What topics would you like to further explore?
This week in science you completed an independent activity. How was that different than working in your group? What did you learn from this experience?
What do you notice about the differences between 3rd grade and 4th grade? How do you think things are going so far?
Think about all you saw, heard, and experienced at the Disabilities Workshop. Use what you learned to complete the "Used to think...Now I think..." routine. Be sure to give details and examples to show how your thinking has changed.
Think about the UNICEF activity we participated in today. In which region did you sit? Post a response in the Used to think...Now I think... visible thinking format. What new understanding will stick with you? Be sure to explain why your thinking has changed.
